- Origin
- This group relates to R. macrosepalum and R. ripense .
- Characteristics
- Shrub, 1-2m. Inflorescense 2-3flowered. Corolla diameter 5-8cm. Calyx has glandular hairs. It divides into two groups, 'Ooryukyu' line similar to R. macrosepalum and 'Shiroryukyu' line similar to R. ripense. However some cultivars show intermediate character between two species.
- 'Ooryukyu' line is thick, loose branched and large leaf. These characters is resemble to R. macrosepalum . While 'Ooryukyu' line has 7-10stamens , R. macrosepalum has 5-6stamens . 'Shiroryukyu' line is much-branched and young shoots densely clothed with strigose. Leaves lanceolate.
