Explanations
- Origin
- Introduced to Japan in 1980 from Kwangsi in China.
- Distribution:Fukien,Kiangsi,Hunan,Kwangsi,Kwichow.
- Characteristics
- Flowers:White,6-7 petals,4-5cm in diameter.Flowering in October to Dicember.
- Leaves:Elliptic to oblong-elliptic,4-5cm long and about 2.5cm wide,deep-green,slightly shining.Lateral veins are visible but netted veins are obscure.
- 2n=60.
- Uses
- This species produces many branches and grows to desirable tree shape. Flowers area little smaller and resemble those of C.oleifera.Leaves are also a little smaller than C.oleifera.It is cultivated in mountainous areas of south China to extract oil from seeds.
