- Origin
- Introduced to Japan in 1968.Because grafting on C.japonica or C.sasanqua is difficult,only a small number of plants have been cultivated.
- Distribution:Hongkong.
- Characteristics
- Flowers:White,6-8 petals,8-9cm in diameter.Flowering in November to December.
- Leaves:Oblong-elliptic,large,9-13cm long and 4-6cm wide,shining,green to yellow-green.
- 2n=30.
- Uses
- It is very valuable species because only one plant has been discoveredon Mt.Parker in Hongkong Is.The bark of the native tree is smooth as that of Lagerstroemia indica L., and is brown color.
