Explanations
- Origin
- Though it is considered to be native to Vietnam, but exact origin is unknown. Introduced to Japan from Kwangsi sinse 1979.
- Distribution:Kwangsi, Kwangtung.
- Characteristics
- Flowers:White,5-7 petals,flat,5-8cm in diameter.Flowering in November to January.
- Leaves:Elliptic to broad oblanceolate,6-9cm long and 3-4cm wide,green to yellow-green,relatively less shiny.
- According to the report of Hagiya et al.(1982). 2n=120.
- Uses
- Similar to C.oleifera,but leaves are larger and thinner.In south China,it is cultivated as oil plants.
