Explanations
- Origin
- Distributed up to the furthest north of China. Introduced to Japan around 1960 from the United States.
- Distribution : Kiangsu,Anhwei,Chekiang,Fukien,Kiangsi.
- Characteristics
- Flowers: White,5 petals,about 4cm in diameter,flat and edges curve outward later. Flowering in January to March.
- Leaves: Oblong-elliptic,4-5cm long and 1.5-2cm wide,thin,grayish-green, less shiny. Venation is obscure.
- 2n=90.
- Uses
- Relatively cold-resistant. Although this species can be used for pot plants by itself, it has been used for breeding of small camellias.
