- Origin
- Introduced to Japan in 1967 by Hagiya and Ishizawa from its nativehabitat.
- Distribution:Formosa.
- Characteristics
- Flowers:White with slightly pink-edged outer patals,5 petals,very small,2-2.5cm in diameter,slighty fragrant.Flowering in March to April.
- Leaves:Oblong-elliptic to oblong-ovate 2.5-3.5cm long and 1-1.5cm wide,deep-green,relatively shining.Venation is obscure.
- Uses
- Branches are slender and branch well.Trees show uplight growth.Because of extreamly small leaves and slender branches,this is suitable for small pot plants.
- Producing many flowers.It has been hardly utilized for breeding but may be miniature camellias can be obtained by using this species in future.
