- Origin
- This species was reported by Dr.Hu in 1965,and attracted attention as yellow camellia.It was called as a mythical flower for long, but a large number of scions and seeds were introduced to Japan from 1979 to 1982.
- Itwas thought the first plant was introduced in October 1979,but the seeds,which was sent by Kunming Botaniccal Institute to Yoshiaki Ando,seem to have been first-introduced in December 1978.
- Distribution:Kwangsi.
- Characteristics
- Flowers:Pure yellow, 9-11 petals, 5-7cm in diameter,peduncles about 1cmlong.Flowering in November to March.
- Leaves:Narrow-elliptic to broad-lanceolate,11-19cm long and 4-7cm wide,shining,bright green,impressed along the veins.
- 2n=30.

- Breeding material for yellow camellia.
