- Origin
- Distributed from Amami-Oshima to central Formosa,and this species is usually included as C.japonica by Botanist, but sometimes it is distinguished because flowers are small and fine tube shape.
- Also,it has been pointed out the numbers of both perules and ovules in ovary are larger compared to C.japonica.
- Distribution:Japan(Amami-Oshima,Okinawa),Formosa.
- Characteristics
- Flowers:Red,5-6 petals,3-4cm in diameter.Flowering in February to April.
- Leaves:Oblong-elliptic to elliptic,7-10cm long and 4-5cm wide,deep-green to dark-green.Venation is relatively obscure.
- 2n=30.
