Rhode Island Red(Ibaraki)

This breed was developed from Asiatic Black-red fowls of Shanghai, Malay, and Java types, bred on the farms of Rhode Island Province during 1900s. Plumage color is red brown with black Columbian pattern on neck and tail feather. Single comb and ear lobes are red and skin color is yellow. Though this breed is for meat and egg production, egg productivity become annually over 250 eggs, comparable to White Leghorn through recent improvement.
