Origin(Ryukyu multi-pupal cocoon(Shizuoka))

Ryukyu multi-pupal cocoon(Shizuoka) had been kept by Sericultural Experiment Station of Shizuoka Prefecture. It was a univoltine and 4-moltinism race. The other features were as follows:
Body color of newly hatched larva : Brownish black
Body color of larva :Yellowish pale white
Body marking : Plain
Cocoon color : Pale gold or yellowish green
Cocoon shape : Spindle or irregular
Wrinkle of cocoon surface : Rough
Hibernating egg color : Greenish brown

The data on the spring rearing cocoon in the 35th year of Showa(1960) tested by Sericultural Experiment Station of Japan are as follows:
(1) Percentage(1) Percentage of Double Cocooning Silkworms 55%
(2) Cocoon Weight 1.35g
(3) Cocoon Shell Weight 13.0cg
(4) Percentage of Cocoon Shell Weight 9.6%
