Origin(Kinkoshu)

Kinkoshu had been kept by Sericultural Experiment Station of Shimane Prefecture. It is a univoltine and 4-moltinism Japanese variety. The cooon color is golden yellow. The newly hatched larva is dark brown. The body color of larva is yellowish white. The body marking is plain. The cocoon color is golden yellow. The cocoon shape is peanut. The wrinkle of cocoon is slightly coarse. The hibernating egg color is grayish purple.
The data on the spring rearing cocoon in the 34th year of Showa(1959) tested by Sericultural Experiment Station of Japan are as follows:
(1) Percentage of Double Cocooning Silkworms 3.0%
(2) Cocoon Weight 1.22g
(3) Cocoon Shell Weight 17.9cg
(4) Percentage of Cocoon Shell Weight 14.6%
(5) Size of Cocoon Filament 2.25d
