Origin
There are three clones cultivated in Japan introduced from Formosa, Hongkong and the United States,which have slight differences of leaf and flowers characters from one another.Flowers from Formosa clone are the largest.
Distribution:Formosa,Hongkong,Fukien,Kwangtung,Kwangi.
Characteristics
Flowers:White,5-6 petals,2-4cm in diameter,hairy on both styles and filaments.Flowering in January to April.
Leaves:Broad-lanceolate,6-8cm long and 1.5-2.5cm wide,green or yellow-green,less shiny,hairy on lower surface.
2n=30.
Uses
If used for plants,branches of young plant grow well and trees tend to develop into rough shape,but when it gets older branches become crowded,tips tend to weep,and so they become good shape.
