Origin
Introduced to Japan by Hagiya and Ishizawa in 1967 from its native of Formosa.
Distribution:Formosa.
Characteristics
Flowers:White,5 petals,very small,about 2cm in diamater,tube shape and finally cup shape,short hairs on filaments.Flowering in March to April.
Leaves:Oblong-elliptic to narrow-elliptic,4-6cm long and 1.5-2cm wide,thin,yellow-green,less shiny.
2n=30.
Uses
Many slender branches develop well, and trees tend to spread.Flowers are small,and not so obvious because they are hidden by branches, and theshape of its leaves are not particularly good.Therefore it seems to be not so important for ornamental.
